Edge recently teamed up with three of the creators of Halo: Reach, and asked the questions everyone wanted to know. Halo: Reach

Due out in the Fall of 2010, Halo: Reach is the prequel to the Halo: CE story that we already know. We assume that the new game follows the storyline of the Halo Books, specifically “Fall of Reach”, but are unsure to any actual storyline or gameplay. We do know Bungie has announced that it will be the final installment to the Halo franchise. For those that have yet to see the teaser, here it is.

King Leonidas Lives!

As many of you have seen, there are some pretty nice parody screen shots and fan files being made that either compare Halo with 300, or include King Leonidas into the Halo story. We all know that the Spartans in Halo were named after the Spartans from…Sparta, who battled in Thermopylae against thousands of Persian invaders. We know that the first schooling the UNSC Spartans learned as youngsters was the battle of Thermopylae and the tactics used by King Leonidas. We know the UNSC Spartans were human. Right?

While messing around with the Halo 3 Forge, I was able to take a closeup of my Spartan’s face through his ODST helmet. It looks to me that there is a face of a lion behind his mask. Could this be a reference to King Leonidas which means Lion’s Son, or Lion-Like? After the jump I have included a few full version of this screenshot, as well as more Halo to 300 fan made screenshots and artwork.
